Carts on Paths for the rest of the year

With our fairways going dormant, and conditions beginning to soften, we are now placing carts on the paths until the turf comes out of dormancy next spring.  Zoysia is a great playing surface when it is actively growing but does not respond well to traffic when it is dormant.  Since our fairways have the most acreage of our finely mowed playing surface at Glen Echo,  carts are placed on paths during the non-growing seasons to reduce compaction and wear and tear on our fairways.  Winter compaction and wear can lead to potentially to areas dying or coming out of dormancy slow in the spring when everyone is out ready to play.  We will allow red flags when conditions are dry enough throughout the winter.  We appreciate your understanding.
