Harrison Bay Eaglet Hatch

Superintendent Paul Carter from Harrison Bay reported that the first eaglet hatched this morning.  I've not spotted it yet but you can tell they are sitting on the nest a little differently, more spread out trying to protect their newly born baby and pulling the nest in close.  The other egg was laid about 3 days later so the second should hatch by the weekend.  They expect them to be on the nest for 10-12 weeks.  Below is additional information as well as a link to the site.

Decorah Eagles 2 hatched

Just spent a few minutes watching the Decorah Eagles.  Two eaglets have hatched and a third is on its way.

FYI, that is not a eaglet laid out in front of the parent.  I believe that is some type of prey.  Saw the parent feeding the eaglets some fish just a couple of minutes ago.  Cool stuff for an outdoor freak!!!!!

Another Eagle cam

There is another live cam of eagles on a nest: Decorah, Iowa Eagle Cam
I pulled it up this morning and saw the parents changing spots on the eggs which was interesting to see.  This site also has sound with its camera.  As I was typing this blog, the eagle on the nest started calling.  It flew off the nest and about 5 seconds later the other eagle flew into the nest.  It took the second eagle at least two minutes to get back on the nest.
